Kate Hudson has been named the latest Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme, supporting the organisation providing food aid to more than 90 million people in over 80 countries worldwide.

The American actress's appointment will be celebrated during a ceremony hosted by Michael Kors in Los Angeles on November 7, and Hudson commented 'The work of the World Food Programme is so much more than just feeding people, it’s about strengthening families, rebuilding communities, and ensuring everyone, everywhere has access to the food they need to not only survive, but thrive'.
